Playa de las Américas is mainly known as a destination for young people under 25 who want a holiday full of nightlife and lazy days.

In years past, Playa de las Américas was increasingly seen as a tourism destination for low cost and tourists a bit 'more demanding had moved into neighboring Adeje.

Playa de las Américas has had to reinvent itself, were made many renovations and today along the avenues are 5 star hotels, restaurants and trendy bars, shopping malls full of famous brands.

The new look has given the city a more international attracting many tourists from Eastern Europe.


The city is located in the south of the island of Tenerife, in the northern part of the municipality of Arona, near the adjacent Adeje. Now the town has become one with with the nearby Los Cristianos and Adeje.


Playa de las Américas has sprung from nowhere as a holiday resort since the early 60. You will not find here a single building or point of historical interest.
